Local Asparagus
Fresh asparagus is now on sale from Medley Manor Farm . They have a stall in the field alongside Binsey Lane (a turning off the Botley Road in Oxford) which is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from noon until 6.30pm.
The local asparagus season lasts from May until June. Asparagus is best eaten within 24 hours of picking before enzyme activity changes its flavour and increases toughness.
