SLEEPOUT: Big Wild Sleepout at Wytham Woods near Oxford

Saturday 21 June 2014 15:00 to Sunday 22 June 2014 09:30
Details:

A unique opportunity for you and your family to camp out over night in Oxford University’s famous research woodland. The stunning woodland is home to some of our most loved wildlife including badgers, foxes and hedgehogs, and this is your chance to sleepout in their home.

This fantastic event will get you close to nature and enable the RSPB to raise funds in order to help save our wildlife. After a tasty BBQ (included in the price) activities will include:
*An evening badger watch and night time walk with bat detectors.
*We will run moth traps to find who else was flying around the woods.
*There will be a campfire to share our wildlife stories around and of course toast marshmallows! The sun will rise early so you can enjoy the dawn chorus, either snuggle up in your tent or join the RSPB team on an early morning explore.
*No tent, no problem! Learn how to pitch tarps in the bushcraft area with www.wildernesspioneers.co.uk. Tarps will be provided and you will join the main group for the evening meal. This activity has limited space so please let us know when you make your booking.

Please note NO DOGS are allowed at this event. Participants will need to bring their own camping equipment (tent, sleeping bag, pegs, mallet, torch, sleeping mat, warm clothes, waterproofs) along with tea/coffee, mugs, plates and cutlery. Water (hot & cold) and milk will be provided for drinks. Please do not bring camping stoves.
